Anthony in 1993 was initially reluctant to become a salsa musician , inspired by the music of Tito Puentes, Ruben Blades, and Juan Gabriel and the influenced of Ralph Mercado as a president of RMM Records, he released his Spanish-language debut, "Otra Nota"and in 1994 he worked with La India in the big hit song "Vivir lo Nuestro"

His album Contra la Corriente was promoted by a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden and he won the 1999 Grammy for Best Tropical Latin Performance. Marc Anthony also did the crossover with his album Marc Anthony which has the hits I Need to Know and others.

Marc Anthony married former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres on May 9, 2000 in Las Vegas.They have two sons, Cristian Marcus Muniz and Ryan Adrian Muniz. This marriege came to the end in October 2003.

After his divorce, he got married with Jennifer Lopez in June 2004. From this marriage they had twins, a girl named Emme M Muniz and a boy Maximilian D Muniz, they were born on February 2008.
